About Bottles 4 Boulet
Bottles4Boulet is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the youth of the Lethbridge area with fundamental learning in an athletic setting.
Bottle 4 Boulet was conceived of by Ryker Morrell, a then 8th grade student in Lethbridge. He was touched by the tragedy regarding the Humboldt Broncos hockey team and inspired by the giving nature of Logan Boulet and his family. Ryker wanted to do something on a local level, apart from the massive outpouring of support on GoFundMe. He came up with the idea of a bottle drive, and aptly named it Bottles 4 Boulet. With the support of his family, school, and the media at large, Ryker was able to get his message out, and ask for donations in the form of cans and bottles, which he picked up around the city. To date, Bottles 4 Boulet has raised $2500 in donations, which were donated in Logan’s name to KidSport. As we go into our second year, we have applied for not-for-profit status, and we are hoping to rally more support, corporate sponsorship, volunteers, and donations, to keep this idea growing, and help as many underprivileged children in our community as possible.
We believe that team sports instills in children the core values of mutual respect, teamwork, fair play, discipline, integrity and the pursuit of excellence.
We strongly feel that teaching children skills in a variety of sports helps to develop, promote, encourage and improve the standard of recreational and amateur sports in and around Lethbridge.
We hope to be able to help develop confidence, concentration, discipline, and physical fitness, while promoting fun and enjoyment in our young athletes.
